Cod liver oil has long been used as a dietary supplement. Especially among people who live in countries with little sunlight to obtain the important vitamin D. In Norway, for example, cod liver oil is consumed regularly. Cod liver oil is obtained from fresh cod liver. It is not only rich in vitamin D, but also in vitamin A and omega-3 fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). The cod liver oil capsule contains 270 mg of high-quality cod liver oil. In our latitudes, there is a lack of sunlight for the formation of vitamin D, especially in the fall.
